This tool re-encodes your pictures with a chosen quality level to make the file smaller. A typical photo at quality 0.78 comes out 50–80% smaller with almost no visible difference — ideal for email attachments, web pages, forms with size limits and phone storage.

How the slider works

• 0.90–1.00 — archive quality, minimal savings.
• 0.75–0.85 — the sweet spot for photos on the web; most people cannot tell the difference.
• 0.50–0.70 — small files for thumbnails, previews and chat.
• Below 0.50 — visible blocking; only for extreme size limits.

Formats

• JPG/JPEG in → JPG out — JPEG itself is much more efficient for photos than PNG.
• PNG in — untick "keep original format" to convert it to JPG and flatten transparency onto white: that is where the biggest savings come from.
• WebP in → WebP out — already efficient, but the slider still trims bytes.

Batch and privacy

How much smaller will my images get?

Photos typically shrink 50–80% at quality 0.78. Screenshots and PNG graphics save even more when converted to JPG.

Is there a visible quality loss?

At 0.75–0.90 the difference is hard to see at normal viewing size. Zoom in on fine text or foliage for the clearest evidence.
